Leadership Transition
A Letter from CAPA’s Board President
Dear CAPA Community,
It is with gratitude and optimism that I announce a leadership transition at the Child Abuse Prevention Association. After ten years of exceptional stewardship and vision, our esteemed President and CEO, Rochelle Parker, will transition to another organization in June.
Under Rochelle’s leadership, CAPA’s revenue increased by over 345%, and staffing and service capacity expanded by 140%. She secured resources for competitive salaries, essential training, and professional development for our staff. Thanks to her pursuit of excellence, CAPA is now a top employer for nonprofit, mental health, and social services professionals. Rochelle shares that, while leaving CAPA is bittersweet, she is filled with hope and confidence for CAPA’s future. We are deeply grateful for her service and wish her all the best.
As we embark on this new chapter, CAPA’s Board of Directors is honored to appoint Dr. Kristina Jones as the Interim President and CEO, effective May 31st. As part of the senior leadership team, Kristina has been integral to our organization for more than 12 years and currently serves as the Vice President of Programs.

Kristina has demonstrated incredible leadership, innovative thinking, and an unwavering commitment to our mission. Her achievements at CAPA include establishing the Healthy Families America accreditation, expanding the counseling program budget, implementing an evidence-based weighted caseload system, and overseeing the transition to electronic records systems. Notably, Kristina formalized CAPA’s Graduate-Level Clinical and Social Work Internship Program, attracting increased interest from funders, higher education partners, and other organizations.
Kristina is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Board-Certified Counselor, and a Nationally Approved Clinical Supervisor. In 2023, she earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University. With a deep understanding of our values and strategic objectives, Kristina is exceptionally equipped to lead CAPA through this transition, and we are confident that CAPA will continue to thrive and uphold the standards of excellence for which we are known.
CAPA’s Board of Directors is committed to ensuring a smooth transition. We have initiated a formal process with OMNI Human Resource Solutions to select a permanent President and CEO who will continue to build on our strong foundation while upholding our values and culture of person-centered operations and service delivery.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the CAPA team, we value the dedication and support of community partners and supporters like you. Together, we will continue to positively impact the lives of children and families in our community by promoting healing, strengthening families, and creating a safer community for all.
Thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
Sincerely,
Danielle Trabon
CAPA Board President
