COVID-19 Update
For the safety of our staff, interns and clients, and in conjunction with local government guidelines to stop the spread of COVID-19, our Independence and Kansas City office locations will be closed through April 25th.
Our 45th Anniversary Celebration of Heroes Luncheon scheduled for April 16th and other community events for Child Abuse Awareness Month during April have been postponed. We will be sure to let you know as those events are rescheduled later in the year.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to preventing and treating child abuse in our community, and have initiated efforts to continue providing needed counseling and support services for children and families during this uncertain time.
Counseling intakes for new families are on hold until our offices reopen. However, current clients and their families are able to receive counseling sessions via phone and secure videoconferencing. Families who participate in home visitation services are also receiving support services by phone. Diapers and other needed supplies are being delivered to participants’ homes as needed without direct contact. Parenting education classes as well as all school-based education, prevention and treatment services have been suspended for the time being.
Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of our mission and services!
